The Rio provides you with the perfect balance of quality and affordability. Currently available in two trim levels, LX and S, this small car leaves a big impression.

Performance

The Rio is equipped with a lively 1.6-liter four-cylinder DOHC engine producing 130 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The speed sensing electric power steering has a precise feel, and that, along with the driveline traction control and electronic stability control, inspires confident cornering. The anti-lock braking system with ventilated front discs provides sure stopping power.

Exterior

The sleek appearance is accentuated by Kia’s distinctive black mesh “tiger’s nose” grille, flanked by the upward sloping, swept backlights. The lower grille, dual air intake vents, and deep body-color spoiler add to the Rio’s sporty road presence. With the S trim, you can also opt for LED headlights or the additional styling of LED positioning lights. Front and rear bumpers are body-colored.

The windshield and front side windows feature solar control glass which helps to reduce the build-up of interior heat. The clean, dynamic lines of the Rio’s profile are helped by the sculptured doors featuring body-colored door handles and body-color heated and power-folding door mirrors.

Interior

Both trim levels feature plush cloth upholstery with a six-way adjustable driver’s seat. The S trim adds adjustable rear seat headrests, and a 60/40 split folding rear seat providing access to the 13.7 cubic feet of trunk space. S models also have cruise control with steering wheel controls and the option of a 3.5-inch LCD driver information display in the instrument cluster.

The infotainment system on the LX trim features a full-color 5-inch touchscreen with an integrated rear-view camera system, four-speaker audio system with AM/FM and SiriusXM radio, MP3 input, Bluetooth wireless technology with steering wheel mounted controls, USB and auxiliary inputs, and a 12-volt outlet.

Added to S models are a 7-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio, Android and Apple smartphone integration, and USB charging ports. Available as an option is access to Kia’s UVO eServices app which provides you with many services directly from your phone. Roadside assist, vehicle diagnostics, parking minder, and analytics of your driving habits are just a few of the accessible features.

Safety Features

The Rio has many safety features fitted as standard, including front, side, and full-length overhead curtain airbags, side impact beams, and electronic brake force distribution. Hill start assist control helps you when moving from a stop on a steep hill by applying the brakes gently for two seconds as you transfer your foot from the brake to the accelerator.
